“Hello world” is the “testing, testing, 1,2,3” of the internet age: it’s the first thing a budding programmer learns to code, the friendly filler text on a newly-launched blog, the first scratch on a digital blank slate. We commissioned new works that explore this concept in music: confronted by empty space, what are the first utterances a creator speaks into the void, and what takes shape from these initial, tentative signals?

This exciting performance was filmed in a state-of-the art recording studio on January 29th, 2021, showcasing Nebula at its finest!
